Lenny Kravitz Responds to Spreading Footage of Him Exercising While Wearing Combat Boots and Leather Pants

After seeing the responses to his widely shared exercise video, Lenny Kravitz wants fans to know that he frequently works out while wearing leather leggings and boots—this is not just a show.

The 59-year-old rock icon talked about the positive response he received to a video he uploaded of himself working out in April in an interview with Variety. Lenny is shown in the video performing massively weighted situps at Equinox Hudson Yards in New York City, while being observed by his trainer, Dodd Romero. He is dressed in a see-through tank top, black leather pants, and black boots. Lenny and Zoe Kravitz

“Thank God for today! Grateful. Never been better. There are no shortcuts so seize your day. It is all possible. Love!” Kravitz captioned the video post.

Fans went wild remarking on the unique workout look. But Lenny says that’s his regular fit for weightlifting.

“I’m always working out in leather pants or jeans and boots and whatever — if I’m not doing cardio. If I’m doing cardio, obviously I’m going to wear sweats because I’m going to be sweating all over the place,” the musician tells the outlet. “But if I’m lifting weights, I don’t sweat so much.”

He continues, “I’m going to drop in; I have 45 minutes; we’re going to hit it; then I’m going to dash to my destination. I thus don’t do it for impact. It’s just me strolling in off the street; I didn’t do that to be like, ‘Oh, let me be just so weird and wear leather pants and glasses.”

Furthermore, the vocalist of Blue Electric Light is unconcerned with anyone who has criticisms of his routine. “I am proficient in my work. My trainer is skilled at what he does. Additionally, I am aware of my body’s capabilities, functions, and sensations, and everything about it feels nice,” he adds. “I trained with professional athletes, NFL and NBA players, and football players. I trained with boxers, wrestlers, and MLB stars. I’ve used them all for play. Although I won’t give names, they’re all well-known individuals. They also claim that I take my training very seriously.”

And the consequences of his training are indisputable. The “Fly Away” singer’s daughter, Zoë Kravitz, made a joke about her father’s obsession with flaunting his toned body when she saw him receive a plaque on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in March.

“We’ve been through a lot. We’ve seen a lot. I’ve seen a lot. I’ve seen you change in the most beautiful ways. I’ve seen the way you’ve stayed the same in the most important ways. I’ve seen the way you show up and take care of the people you love. I’ve seen your incredible dedication to your art,” she said, before quipping, “But mostly, I’ve seen through your shirts.”

“According to my dad, if it doesn’t expose your nipples, it’s not a shirt. And sure, it used to embarrass me when you picked me up from school as a kid, but I gotta say, at this point, I respect it,” Zoë continued. “You really do pull it off. Your relationship with a netted shirt is probably your longest one, and it works. You two make each other better, and if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. It’s a beautiful thing.”

Channing Tatum, Zoë’s fiancé, is as enamored with his soon-to-be father-in-law’s exercise regimen as the internet is.

“Jesus Christmas Lenny wtf you’re gonna hurt someone on this platform,” Tatum said in a comment on the rock star’s March shirtless photo that featured his toned figure. Laugh out loud.

The rock star is seen in the photo staring off into the horizon and soaking up some sun while his hands are tucked slightly into his pants. Lenny was wearing just pants, a brown leather belt, and shades. These photos typically feature amazing backgrounds, but on this particular day, the vocalist of “American Woman” stole the show.

One follower replied to Channing’s comment saying, “here’s the thing, we WANT him to hurt us ,” to which Channing responded with, “baahahahaha.”
